Read the assessment standardA forward-deployed engineer (FDE) works close to a business and its users to build, test, and deploy technical systems. Torchlane’s applied AI training covers defining the problem, building the system, evaluating its behavior, and explaining the handoff. Employers set their own role requirements; completing the program does not establish senior engineering experience.

The course asks you to prepare a résumé, GitHub portfolio, LinkedIn profile, and pitches for a manager, employer, and client. Your projects supply the demo, client presentation, case study, and technical evidence behind those materials. This is preparation and review, not job placement or a promise of clients.
You do not need coding experience to apply. You will learn to work with code, data, and AI tools. Your professional experience helps you understand the business problems; the program builds the technical capability around it.
Ninety days is the training goal. The starting plan is about nine hours each week, and access lasts 120 days. Your actual pace depends on your starting point, available time, and the work needed to meet the assessment standard.
You submit a working application, repository, test evidence, demo, client deck, and handoff. Projects are assessed against seven published categories. A passing result requires every category to meet the standard and no critical failure.
Public pages explain the program and show selected work examples. Member lessons, project fixtures, and downloads require enrollment. Creating an account or applying does not unlock the program.
Tuition and payment terms are provided in writing during the admissions process. Paid enrollment is not currently open. You can submit an application without paying or committing to enroll.
