Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Torchlane, a brand of Meridius LLC ("Torchlane", "we", "us"), collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit torchlane.ai or academy.torchlane.ai, apply to our training program, receive text messages or emails from us, or take part in the program.

Information we collect

Information you give us. Your name, email address, phone number, LinkedIn profile, your answers on our application and inquiry forms, messages you send us, and, if you enroll, your account details and the work you submit in the program.
Phone verification and text consent. When you confirm your phone number we record whether it was verified. When you tick the optional text message box on our application, we record that you agreed, when, and the exact wording you saw.
Payment information. Payments are processed by our payment provider. We receive confirmation of the payment and the amount, not your full card number.
Learning activity. If you enroll, we record your progress, quiz and exam results, reviews and other activity in the program, and, only with your separate consent, usage data from tools we provide for the program.
Device and usage information. Pages viewed, links clicked, the referring page, campaign tags in links, your browser and device type, and your IP address. We use cookies and similar browser storage to keep you signed in, save form drafts, remember settings and understand how our pages are used.

How we use information

To review your application, contact you about it, and schedule and hold calls with you.
To send text messages you agreed to receive: application follow-ups, call confirmations and reminders.
To provide the program: your account, lessons, reviews, credentials, exam vouchers and support.
To process payments, refunds and any guarantee claims.
To keep our services secure, prevent fraud and spam, and meet legal obligations.
To understand and improve our pages, program and marketing, including measuring whether our ads work.

Text messages (SMS)

We send text messages only to people who opt in by ticking the optional text message box on our application, or a similar box on a booking form. Consent to texts is never a condition of applying or buying. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. See the SMS Terms in our Terms of Service.

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except the service providers that deliver our text messages on our behalf. We never send your phone number or your text consent to advertising platforms.

How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share it only as described here:

Service providers that work for us under contract and may use it only to provide their services to us: website and database hosting, text message and phone verification delivery, email delivery, customer relationship management and scheduling, payment processing, analytics, exam voucher fulfillment, and AI tools provided to enrolled learners.
Advertising measurement. If we run ads, our pages may use advertising tools (such as the Meta pixel) that record page visits and form steps, and we may send the ad platform a one-way hashed email address with an event (for example, that an application was submitted) so we can measure our ads. We never send phone numbers or text consent. You can block these tools with your browser's privacy settings.
Legal and safety reasons. When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of Torchlane, our learners or others.
Business transfers. If Meridius LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
With your consent. For example, if you ask us to introduce you to an employer.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information as long as we need it for the purposes above, including to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, and then delete it or keep it in a form that no longer identifies you. Records of text message consent and opt-outs are kept for as long as we may need to show them.

Your choices and rights

Reply STOP to any text to stop texts. Use the unsubscribe instructions in any marketing email to stop those emails.
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing admissions@torchlane.ai. We will verify your request and respond as required by law. Some information may need to be kept for legal reasons.
Depending on where you live, including California, you may have additional rights, such as to know what we collect, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any right, email admissions@torchlane.ai. We will not treat you differently for using your rights.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections and access controls, to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Children

Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and tell you about material changes where the law requires.
